A little Austrian man called Adolph Hitler once envisioned Berlin as Welthauptstadt (World Capital) Germania. From here, he consolidated the power of the Third Reich, commanded the destruction of his rivals, led a country toward a vision of world domination, and committed suicide. Who was he? Where did he come from, and how did he manage to convince a nation of poets and thinkers to do what it did?

Physical remains of the Third Reich are still scattered throughout the city today. Discover the history behind the most emblematic Nazi sites in Berlin, from the rise of National Socialism and it’s tragic consequences, through to the Soviet invasion of the city during Hitler’s last days, all in full color. We’ll also visit some of the most important memorial sites and discuss the impact this dark history is still having on modern life in Berlin today.
